QUERCECCHIO BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2011

Italy — Tuscany • $33.95 • 90/100

The wine is moderately deep red, showing garnet on the rim. The nose suggests a mix of ripe cherries and plums with some leathery and drying fruit elements as well, backed by savoury, dried herbs and dusty earth. It is dry, with brisk acidity, elevated alcohol that generates some heat, and fine, persistent tannins. The fruit is fresher on the palate, suggesting bright red cherries, raspberries, blackberries and plums, while the savoury and earthy elements add depth and contribute to the cedary finish. Vibrant and compelling. I prefer this to the previous 2010 vintage. • LCBO Release 03/04/2017 • LCBO id#438580 • Find it at your nearest LCBORUBY WINES & SPIRITS (Agent)
