RIZZI BARBARESCO 2012

Italy — Piedmont • $38.95 • 90/100

The wine is medium-red, turning garnet on the rim. The complex nose suggests violets and cherry blossoms, perfumed maraschino cherries, then fresh, ripe raspberries and blackberries, with dried herbal notes, baking spice and vanilla. Vivid acidity and high tannins balance warm alcohol, the fruit on the palate still shows some youthful freshness, and the tannins linger on the finish. Drink now with decanting. Oak is integrating, but three to five more years in cellar will help to tame the tannins. Well-structured. • LCBO Release 03/04/2017 • LCBO id#478958 • Find it at your nearest LCBOBRAND NEW DAY WINES & SPIRITS (Agent)
