DOMAINE JACKY MARTEAU SAUVIGNON TOURAINE 2016

France — Loire • $14.95 • WD Score 88/100

This is an attractive, modern Sauvignon Blanc from Touraine. There’s an edge of fairly subtle grass and earthy-vegetal tones prior to a waft of white grapefruit. The wine is briskly dry, and the grapefruit jumps forward on the palate as the savoury and herbal tones recede. The finish is acidic and stony. With the first bottle tasted, the earthy-vegetal tones stood out very strongly, while the second was more balanced. But in either case, this is a pleasing and value-packed Sauvignon indeed. • Tasted 2018-01-06 • LCBO id#745349 • Find it at your nearest LCBOAPPELLATION WINES (Agent)
