DUVAL LEROY BLANC DE BLANCS GRAND CRU BRUT CHAMPAGNE 2006

France — Champagne • $59.95 • 93/100

It is always so fascinating to taste older, vintage Champagnes, and this example, with at least ten years in bottle, is very rewarding. Complex aromas of brioche, toast, roasted almonds, and some bruising of the apple fruit are still backed by a firm, lemony undertone. The wine is dry, acidity is still bracing, all balanced by a rich, lightly creamy texture. The fruit is slightly bruised on the palate but still shows lots of life, inside the pleasant toasty and nutty framework. There is fine complexity in this 2006 Champagne, at a very reasonable price. • Tasted 2017-09-16 • LCBO id#482828 • Find it at your nearest LCBOB AND W WINES (Agent)
